Virtual Reality Exhibition

Exploration of the Natural World (May 2020)

Exhibition Information

This exhibition focuses on the intersection between the artist and her interactions with the natural world around her. In a variety of styles and mediums, such as oil and acrylic paint, lithography, screenprinting, oil pastels, and calligraphy ink, the artist asks the viewer to make connections between themselves and what they see in order to create meaning, while also considering the context provided in the accompanying texts.

Although each work is created out of personal context to the artist, she seeks to relate the feelings and connections to her surroundings with the viewer through her use of forms, colors, and brushstrokes. Mainly consisting of floral imagery and landscapes, this exhibition is loosely organized around those two sub-categories, often evoking a deeper connection to the artist’s maternal line and floral symbolism.

The artist asks the viewer to consider the full context (location & story behind the artwork) upon reflection of each piece of art in order to gain a deeper insight.

Many pieces included in this exhibition were created during the COVID-19 containment period, a time in which the artist was unemployed and sought to venture deeper into her artistic passions.
